Generally, alpine lakes are beautiful during the summer, except the uneasiness to offer too cold waters and, in the evening, temperatures not certain proper in summer. The particularity of the lake of Idro, one of the bigger alpine lakes of Europe, is that it really has a mild climate (diurnal temperatures around 30ø and nocturnal around 25ø). Water's temperature is mild from June to September, because of its altitude of 370 meters and its dimension, 12 km long and 2 km wide (maximal extension).
